These were the words of Baba Muktananda of India.
It’s so easy to see when we were all brand new babies.
Then stuff happens to us.
I’ve been a volunteer at Terminal Island Federal Penitentiary for 22 years.
When I listen for similarities I hear myself in the hearts of all of the imprisoned men.
Our task is to unconceal our unbridled joy of simply being alive and recognize that we all have some unconcealing to do.
My task is to allow forgiveness for all that stuff that I did, did not do and what happened to me.
And then do better. Not perfect, simply better.
The best gift of Christmas.
