The two overlapping circles are known as a “Mandorla”, This symbol has been used for centuries to to convey the coming together of apparent opposites. The two circles could represent Heaven and Earth or the spiritual and physical or merely two people trying to get along. The understanding, compromise and magic occur where the circles overlap.
The Wide Sky Men’s Council, a group I have been involved with for 30 years uses this symbol to represent the spiritual and the physical. If we get too far out on the spiritual end we lose touch with each other and physical reality. If we get too far out on the physical end we lose the magic of creation, joy of life and tend to get dry and brittle.
Where the circles overlap is the possibility of real peace for us all.
