The Colors of YES!
Yes.
I’ve decided to say
YES! with a capital YES!
from that place within me
that’s beyond decisions and
decision making.
I’m stepping out into
the only place to fly
that place beyond
pros and cons
beyond prison bars
marked permission and deserving
beyond shoulds and rules
and what is supposed to be right.
The canvas of my life
will be splattered
on purpose now
instead of by mistakes and
happy coincidences.
In one corner,
close enough to the edge
to artistically suggest
they may actually fall off,
will be all my apologies.
They have always been painted
in the color of plaintive cowering.
I paint the canvas of my life
on purpose now
with purpose now.
My colors whisper the conviction
of “Yes” in the greens and browns
of timeless nature.
My colors speak the firmness
of “Yes” through the gorgeous interplay
of darks and lights when I announce
a true “No.”
The celebration of “YES!”
brings all the colors of
the joy of you
mixed with the panorama of shades
that only pure curiosity can bring.
What is the color of mystery?
The canvas of my life will have it
right beside the joy of discovery
and the awe of never knowing.
Bold yellows will announce
my yes to the spirit of adventure.
I am saying yes to
the closedness of you
the openness of you
the truth of you.
Today I am saying
YES!
to every
glorious
color
of
YES!
