“Consequences or Karma”

I am feeling helpless and powerless over what is going on in the world. I remember a widely distributed and read story about a famous man who was being tortured to death many years ago on a cross. It is said that with his last breath he asked God to forgive his torturers as they “know not what they do”.

This wise man must have known that there are consequences for our actions, no matter who we are. The men who nailed and tortured him were very low level employees of the government and yet they still would be held accountable for what they did. He must have known about some kind of Karma or consequences for damaging behavior, so he prayed for them.

Getting angry at what I see today is no way to react. I remember studying Kenpo Karate and being in the Marine Corps learning that if one gets angry or rage filled then one loses any fight. Not to mention what that anger does to one’s physiology and Karma.

I will still stand up for what I know is right, while I pray for the souls of those doing the evil things in our world. What I do know is that Hitlers, Gestapos, Stalins and liars always have an unglorious end. That kind of craving for power never ends well for those that indulge. Sooner or later. consequences arrive.

“Pray for us as we know not what we do.”
